A Nauvoo man was killed in a single-vehicle crash overnight in Walker County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Carlton L. Lawson. He was 57.

The wreck happened at 12 a.m. Tuesday on Dogwood Road near Walden Road. That location is two miles north of Carbon Hill.

Senior Trooper Gregory Corble said Lawson was driving a Toyota Venza that left the road and hit a tree.

Lawson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
