52-year-old man missing for weeks from west Birmingham believed to be in ‘extreme danger’

A 52-year-old Birmingham man missing for several weeks is believed to be in extreme danger.

Donald Cash was last seen Sept. 26 in the 800 block of Knoxville Street in western Birmingham.

His family has not heard from, or seen, him since then.

“He is described as a man who works, takes care of his family and goes home,’’ said Officer Truman Fitzgerald. “This is completely uncommon for him not to have any contact with his loved ones.”

The case was immediately assigned to a detective with the Birmingham Police Department’s Special Victims Unit, and investigators said they’re concerned about his well-being.

“With some facts that we’ve learned that we can’t make available to the public, we believe he is in extreme danger,’’ Fitzgerald said.

Cash is Black male, 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighing 275 pounds.

He was wearing black pants, a black shirt, a black hat and brown boots.

Police are asking for anyone who knows anything about his disappearance to come forward.

“We know the community talks,’’ Fitzgerald said.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 205-328-9311 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
