A Lee County man is under arrest in the alleged sex abuse of a child.

Sheriff’s officials on Friday announced the arrest of 51-year-old Michael Deangelo Jones. He lives in Opelika.

The investigation began Thursday when the sheriff’s official received a report of a sexual abuse of a girl under the age of 12. Detectives on Friday obtained a warrant against jones for sex abuse of a child under the age of 12.

Jones is being held in the Lee County Jail on $50,000 bond.
