A 51-year-old man was killed Monday night in a traffic crash during a police pursuit in Geneva County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as William Earl Durham. He lived in Daleville.

According to Senior Trooper Kendra R. McKinney, the wreck happened at 7:20 p.m. on Alabama 123.

Daleville police officers were chasing Durham. McKinney did not release any additional information about why Durham was sought or how the crash happened.

The roadway was closed overnight but has since reopened.

The State Bureau of Investigation is leading the probe into the deadly crash.
