A woman died in a fiery crash Saturday morning in Dale County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Indea L. Dease. She was 50 and lived in Ariton.

The wreck happened at 9 a.m. on Dale County 72 near Dale County 99, about five miles east of Ariton.

Trooper Lt. Jeremy Burkett said Dease was a passenger in a Nissan Titan that left the road, crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

Dease was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver, 45-year-old Jacob P. Dease, was injured and taken to Southeastern Medical Center in Dothan. His condition has not been released.

The wreck remains under investigation by troopers.
