A 50-year-old woman died Wednesday, a day after she was injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Bessemer.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Meka F. Young.

The wreck happened at 10:39 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Ninth Avenue North in Bessemer. Details surrounding the crash have not yet been made available.

Young was taken to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:01 p.m. Thursday.

Circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by Bessemer police.
