50 cent faces criminal battery after throwing mic, hitting fan
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, faces criminal battery after throwing a mic off stage during a Thursday performance and hitting a fan.
“Let’s be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone,” 50 Cent’s lawyer Scott Leemon told Deadline. “Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed,’ the New York-based lawyer added.
The fan has been identified as Power 106 host Bryhana Monegain, who was hit during Jackson’s Cryto.com Arena show on Aug. 30. 50 Cent is currently on the road for his Final Lap Tour.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe 50 Cent threw the mic at his crew in the production area and hit the victim. The victim, however, told police he looked directly at her before throwing the mic. Monegain went to the hospital with a laceration on her head.
The rapper was having issues with the mics not using, and, as you can see by the video, threw one of the dead mic off stage.
