5-year-old injured after being caught in crossfire of Mobile apartment complex shooting

A 5-year-old was injured when they were caught in the crossfire of a shooting Wednesday night at a Mobile apartment complex.

Officers are investigating the 5:45 p.m. shooting involving a 5-year-old victim at the Oak Ridge Apartments at 4215 Moffett Rd., said Mobile police spokesman Blake Brown.

The child’s injuries are non-life-threatening, Brown said.

Officers conducted a “thorough investigation at the apartment complex” but no suspects were in custody as of Wednesday evening.

Two people were shooting at each other when the child was caught in the crossfire, according to WKRG.
