5 people, including 4 juveniles, charged with murder: Person shot dies months after Huntsville burglary
Huntsville police have charged a total of five people – including one juvenile female and three juvenile males – with murder in connection with a burglary last year after a suspect involved died months after he was shot in the incident.
And charges may be filed against another person already in jail, investigators say.
Cameron David Robinson, 22, was the only one of the five who was not a juvenile.
Robinson turned himself in to police today and was booked into the Madison County Jail. The juveniles were charged as adults and also booked in the Madison County Jail.
Officers responded to the 4500 block of Judith Lane on August 22, 2022 and found three individuals involved in the burglary suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was not among the gunshot victims.
Violent Crimes Unit Investigators said they determined the offenders broke into a residence and gunfire was exchanged between the burglary victim and offenders. At the time of the shooting, three of the offenders were transported to the hospital. One individual was listed in critical condition.
Investigators originally charged the offenders with burglary and said at the time that the victim knew the offenders.
On Wednesday, Feb. 1, Dashaon Floyd, 22, died from injuries as a result of the shooting. Major Crimes Unit Investigators upgraded the charges for the individuals involved to murder.
According to Huntsville police, another person involved in the burglary is currently incarcerated in a state prison on unrelated charges.
