5 killed in fiery crash on Etowah County interstate
Five people were killed in a fiery cash on an Alabama interstate.
The wreck happened at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 59 in Etowah County, according to the Alabama State Troopers. That location is about four miles south of Attalla.
Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey on Friday said Jimie M. Francisco, 31, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu and collided head on with a 2009 Toyota Tundra.
Upon impact, the Toyota burst into flames.
Francisco, of Crossville, was pronounced dead the scene.
The driver of the Toyota and three passengers also died on the scene. Their identities have not yet been confirmed pending examination by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
The accident remains under investigation by troopers.
