5 indicted on federal sex trafficking crimes in Montgomery

Five people have been indicted on federal sex trafficking charges in central Alabama.

The U.S. Department of Justice on Tuesday announced an eight-count indictment against Kimani Jones, 30, Treymane Lambert, 48, Aleecia Scott, 27, Joseph Keon Bowe, 37, and Daryle Gardner, 30.

Jones, Lambert and Scott are from Montgomery. Bowe lives in Notasulga and Gardner is from Prattville.

According to the indictment, Jone, Lambert, and Scott used force, fraud, and coercion to compel adult women to engage in commercial sex acts between August 2016 and November 2020.

Jones also used force, fraud and coercion to compel two minors to engage in commercial sex acts during that period, and Bowe used force, fraud and coercion to compel a minor to engage in commercial sex acts between August 2018 and March 2019, DOJ officials said.

The indictment also charges Jones with transporting one minor and one adult woman across state lines for purposes of prostitution in November 2016 and January 2020.

Gardner is accused of transporting an adult woman for purposes of prostitution in January 2020.

The Department of Homeland Security, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Montgomery Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery Police Department, and the Montgomery Attorney General’s Office investigated the case.
