The first winter storm of 2024 played havoc with the high school basketball schedule in the Huntsville/Tennessee Valley. Teams are hustling to get games played – mostly area contests – before tournaments are scheduled to begin Feb. 2.

Here are five high school basketball games of note set this week (records through January 20):

ALBERTVILLE (19-5) AT HUNTSVILLE (23-1) – BOYS

Day/Time: Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.

The skinny: Huntsville has won 29 straight at home and is riding a 20-game win streak this season. The Crimson Panthers rolled over Albertville 84-54 on Jan. 9 and beat Sparkman 85-54 on Jan. 12. The Aggies were 4-2 in 2024, headed into Monday night’s Marshall County Tournament game vs. DAR. Albertville is 1-3 in Area 7 play while Huntsville is 3-0.
