5 coaches leave Alabama football off final top 25 coaches poll
Alabama football fell in the final top 25 rankings in the coaches poll, all the way to No. 17.
But there were a few coaches who didn’t even rank the Crimson Tide.
New Mexico’s Bronco Mendenhall, Western Michigan’s Lance Taylor, San Jose State’s Ken Niumatalolo, UNLV’s Barry Odom (now with Purdue), and Washington’s Jedd Fisch all left Alabama off their final rankings.
The highest a coach had Alabama was at No. 11: Troy Calhoun of Air Force. Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman ranked the Crimson Tide in the No. 12 spot.
The Crimson Tide completed its first season under the direction of Kalen DeBoer in 2024. Alabama finished 9-4, the first non-10 win season since 2007, which was Nick Saban’s first season with the program.
Alabama dropped six spots in the final coaches poll of the season after losing to a depleted Michigan roster in the ReliaQuest Bowl. The Crimson Tide was ranked No. 11 heading into bowl season.
Alabama was also ranked No. 17 in the final AP top 25 rankings of the 2024 season.
