Officials throughout the Birmingham metro area are currently working on dozens of projects designed to create more greenspaces and connect cities through expanded trail systems.

Below are five firms working on projects expected to create a large impact in the area in years to come. Most, but not all involve the Freshwater Land Trust, a nonprofit which focuses on environmental conservation in thirteen counties across Central Alabama.
