Libraries in Alabama continue to be on the front lines of the culture wars, including in Mobile where worries over losing $486,000 in state aid surfaced Tuesday during a council meeting.

The concerns, raised during a Committee of the Whole meeting, focused on what the local library service risks if it doesn’t adopt state policy changes approved earlier this spring.
