A motorcyclist was killed in a Chilton County crash.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Derrick A. Lilly. He was 48 and lived in Brierfield.

The wreck happened at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday on Chilton County 327 near Alabama 22. That location is one mile east of Maplesville.

Trooper Sgt. Jeremy J. Burkett said Lilly was driving a Can-Am Spyder that left the road. He was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation by troopers is ongoing.
