47-year-old man with serious medical issues missing nearly 1 month from Alabama’s Washington County

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a 47-year-old man who has been missing from Washington County for nearly a month.

Benjamin Tracy Ward was last seen about 3 p.m. on July 17 in the area of Fire Tower Road and Sank Town Road. He left a residence on foot and has not been seen or heard from since then.

Ward was reported missing the following day. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has searched for him, but to no avail.

Investigators say Ward has major medical issues, which require daily medication that he did not have with him at the time of his disappearance.

Ward’s medical issue, if not treated with his prescribed medication, leaves Ward confused, lethargic, forgetful, and unaware of his surroundings. Ward has been known to lie down and sleep for as long as 24 hours if he does not take his prescribed medication.

He is originally from Prattville and most recently has been living in Citronelle. He has friends and family in the area.

Ward is a white male, 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.

He was last known to be wearing black shorts, a fluorescent orange t-shirt, black shoes, and white socks.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 251-847-2202 or Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP (7867) or 1-833-AL1-STOP. Tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers’ P3-tips app.
