A 46-year-old man was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds Monday in south Alabama.

The Conecuh County Coroner’s Office responded to a home off Conecuh County Road 92 in Belleville after being called to the scene by the sheriff’s office around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

An altercation at the home resulted in the shooting death of Douglas James Rogers, 46, of Castleberry, the coroner’s office said.

Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

His body is scheduled to be sent Tuesday to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Mobile, the coroner’s office said.

Both the sheriff’s and coroner’s office are continued to investigate Rogers’ death.
