$450,000 in cocaine washes ashore on Dauphin Island, according to sheriff’s office
Packages containing 25 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of $450,000 washed ashore on Dauphin Island, the Mobile Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
The sheriff’s office was contacted by Dauphin Island police after the packages were found along the west end of the island.
Narcotics detectives were sent to the island and conducted a search, but no additional packages were found.
The sheriff’s office says it will continue to monitor the area and asks that anyone finding anything suspicious along the beach contact the MCSO at 251-574-8633.
