A Columbiana man injured in a weekend crash in Shelby County has died.

Alabama State Troopers on Wednesday identified the fatality victim as Charles N. Turner. He was 44.

The wreck happened at 9:32 a.m. Sunday on Hollybrook Road, about two miles southeast of Columbiana.

Authorities said Turner was a passenger in a Chevrolet Malibu left the roadway and struck a tree.

Senior Trooper Justin O’Neal said Turner was not using a seat belt. He was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham where he died Tuesday.

The driver of the vehicle – 21-year-old Joshua Evans – was not injured.
