40-year-old Dothan man arrested on child sex charges involving young girl he met online
A Dothan man is under arrest on child sex charges involving a young girl.
Adam Scott Moore, 40, is charged with second-degree rape and traveling to meet a minor for sex, Dothan police announced Tuesday. The victim is under the age of 16.
On Monday, said Lt. Scott Owens, officers were called to the 200 block of Grand Villa Drive.
Officers met with the victim’s guardian who described inappropriate messages with someone who looked too old for the relationship. The suspect and the victim had connected through an online messaging system.
The girl was taken to the Child Advocacy Center for an interview where she described a sexual relationship with Moore, Owens said.
Officers located Moore at his residence and interviewed him at the Dothan Police Department. During an interview, Moore admitted to the sexual relationship.
Moore admitted to picking up the girl from her home and going back to his residence. While there, he told investigators, he and the girl engaged in sexual activity.
Moore was booked into the Houston County Jail with bond set at $90,000.
