4-year-old killed in Alabama dog attack ‘touched so many lives’

A four-year-old child killed in a dog attack Monday night is being remembered by friends and family.

Beau Clark was the victim of the incident that happened in Morgan County.

Sheriff’s deputies and EMS personnel responded to Ramblewood Private Drive off of Vaughn Bridge Road in Hartselle, the sheriff’s office said Monday evening.

The child died later that evening. The dog was euthanized following the attack.

“Please pray for the family of the child bitten tonight in our community, our Deputies, EMS and [volunteer fire department] that responded to the scene,” the agency said. “Tonight is hard.”

A GoFundMe page organized for the family had already raised more than $17,000 by Tuesday afternoon.

“Kevin and Hailey Clark are beloved members of the Hartselle, AL community,” a message on the page reads. “Tragically, they lost their 4 year old son, Beau, on February 26, 2024. Please donate to help support them and their family during this difficult time. Please keep them continually in your prayers.”

Tributes to the child on social media remembered him and his family.

“Sweet little Beau will be so missed,” Candace Burbanks wrote on Facebook. “He touched so many lives in his short 4 yrs. I remember him from pals and he was just a sweetie.”

Skylar Isbell remembered babysitting the boy and playing with him.

“Beau stood out to me the most, he was soo joyful and full of energy and nothing less,” she wrote. “He came to the school often and I remember a couple days after I babysat him. He was running all around the school. I’m pretty sure I chased him into every room at Hartselle High School. I would give anything to carry him upside down, down the stairs and just hear his little giggles and laughter again.”
