4-star LB Tyler Lockhart from Mississippi commits to Auburn football
Tyler Lockhart, a four-star linebacker from Mississippi in the 2025 class, announced his commitment to Auburn on Monday night, according to a post on his X account, formerly known as Twitter.
Auburn originally gave a scholarship offer to Lockhart in February and he took an unofficial visit to Auburn in March. 247Sports lists new Auburn defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin as his primary recruiter and Ole Miss, where Durkin worked from 2020-21, has offered Lockhart, too. Other schools to offer Lockhart include Alabama, Mississippi State, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee according to his 247Sports recruiting page.
The 247Sports composite ranking lists Lockhart as the No. 145 overall player in the 2025 class as well as the No. 18 overall linebacker and No. 6 player in Mississippi.
Lockhart is from Winona, Mississippi, and is listed at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds.
According to the composite rankings, Lockhart is the second-highest-rated player in Auburn’s 2025 class. Auburn’s 2025 class is now back up to 10 recruits after tight end Hollis Davidson III de-committed on Monday afternoon.
