Jayden Lewis, a class of 2024 cornerback rated by 247Sports as a four-star recruit, announced his commitment from Auburn on Tuesday. He was the first 2024 recruit landed by Hugh Freeze and the new Auburn coaching staff when he picked Auburn back in February.

Lewis is the second Auburn de-commitment over the last week. On Oct. 10, four-star rated athlete Jalewis Solomon de-committed from Auburn and quickly switched his pledge to South Carolina.

Lewis is an Alabama native, who goes to Anniston High School in Anniston, Alabama.

He visited Auburn recently, having been on the field for Auburn’s Sept. 30 loss to No. 1 Georgia. Lewis does have standing offers from multiple other SEC programs according to his recruiting profile.

Since Lewis committed to Auburn, Freeze brought in two other cornerbacks in the 2024 class: four-stars A’Mon Lane and Jalyn Crawford. Auburn also continues to be in strong pursuit of other top defensive backs including five-star Florida State commit K.J. Bolden, who also visited Auburn for the Georgia game and listed Auburn as a finalist when he made his initial decision.

Auburn’s 2024 class is now down to 16 players after the de-commitments of Solomon and Lewis. It is still ranked as a top 20 overall class by 247Sports.

Auburn received a class of 2025 commitment Monday when Birmingham native defensive lineman Jourdin Crawford picked Freeze’s team.
