4 juveniles face charges as chase from Vestavia Hills to Birmingham ends with rollover crash, injuries
Four juveniles are facing charges after an early-morning police chase from Vestavia Hills to Birmingham ended in a rollover crash.
Police Lt. Michael Keller said the incident began just before 2 a.m. Monday when officers spotted a vehicle driving recklessly on U.S. 31 near Kentucky Avenue.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver would not stop.
The vehicle traveled from Vestavia Hills and through Homewood before ending up on Highland Avenue in Birmingham. At that point, Keller said, the vehicle flipped several times.
One of the juveniles was taken to Children’s of Alabama with minor injuries. The other three were evaluated on the scene.
Keller said all four were released to their parents pending formal petitions through the juvenile court system.
