38-year-old Woodstock man was pedestrian fatally struck on I-65 in Birmingham
Authorities have released the name of a pedestrian who was stuck and killed on I-65 in Birmingham.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jonathan Keith Belcher. He was 38 and lived in Woodstock.
Birmingham police and firefighters were dispatched about 3 a.m. Tuesday to I-65 northbound in downtown. The location was near Third Avenue North.
Belcher was pronounced dead on the scene at 3:25 a.m.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said driver who struck Belcher remained at the scene and called 911.
