36-year-old man killed in Montgomery shooting; investigation ongoing

An investigation is underway in the shooting death of a 36-year-old man in Montgomery.

Police on Monday identified the victim as Travis Jackson. He was 36 and lived in Montgomery.

Officers and fire medics responded at 8:49 p.m. Friday to a report of a person shot in the 1500 block of Hale Street.

Sgt. Tina McGriff said first responders arrived to find Jackson wounded. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

McGriff said the circumstances remain under investigation. The death has not been ruled a homicide at this point, she said.
