A 35-year-old man was killed early Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash in Adger.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Matthew Robert McClellan. He was 35.

The wreck happened at 12:20 a.m. on Smith Camp Loop at Johnson Camp Road.

Authorities said McClellan was traveling on Smith Camp Loop near the Johnson Camp Road intersection when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle left the road and struck multiple trees.

He was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:19 a.m.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
