35-year-old IDâd as woman found slain at East Lake Park tennis courts in Birmingham
Authorities have released the name of a woman found shot to death at East Lake Park’s tennis courts last week.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Kaprice Monique Jackson. She was 35 and lived in Birmingham.
A passerby made the discovery about 7:15 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of 82nd Street North, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
Jackson was found under the overhang of the tennis courts clubhouse at Lynn Park, which is part of East Lake Park. Fitzgerald said she had been shot.

It wasn’t immediately clear when the fatal shooting took place. The only Shot Spotter call in that area was almost 24 hours earlier, and Fitzgerald said it’s unlikely the victim had been there that long without being spotted.
Jackson was pronounced dead at 7:53 a.m.
