Montgomery police launched a homicide investigation after a 34-year-old man was shot dead Tuesday night.

Officers and fire medics responded to the 3800 block of South Cour Street around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a person shot, Maj. Saba Coleman said Wednesday.

At the scene, authorities found 34-year-old Montgomery resident Cortavious McLean with a fatal gunshot wound, Coleman said.

The investigation was ongoing as of Wednesday evening, and police asked anyone with information on the homicide to call CrimeStoppers at 334-215-STOP, Secret Witness at 334-625-4000 or Montgomery police at 334-625-2831.
