A 34-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle weekend crash in Birmingham.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jason Albert. He lived in Birmingham.

The wreck happened at 4:33 a.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of Tallapoosa Street.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said Albert was a passenger in a vehicle that hit a utility pole. No additional details were released.

Albert was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:57 a.m.

Birmingham police are investigating.
