31-year-old man charged with murder in Baldwin County shooting
A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting death Monday of a male following an argument in Baldwin County, authorities said.
Foley police responded to the 200 block of East Berry Avenue on a call of shots fired Monday, said Capt. Andre Reid of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers arrived on the scene, where they found the victim, Foley resident Ronald Barnett Jr., was shot.
Barnett was taken to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries, Reid said.
The Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit was activated to assist Foley police in the investigation, the captain said.
Investigators learned the victim was in an argument with 31-year-old Telvin Knight.
Knight, a Foley resident, was then identified as a suspect.
After Knight and his attorney met with investigators, Knight was arrested on a murder charge, Reid said.
“While this investigation is still ongoing, we are proud to announce this timely arrest,” the captain said in a statement. “This investigation and arrest are an example of what can be accomplished through cooperation.”
