30 new businesses you can find at Alabama’s beaches

If you’re planning a visit to Alabama’s coast this spring or summer, you’re probably looking forward to visiting some old favorites: Restaurants, beach bars and other businesses catering to the desires of visitors.

You’re probably also hoping to find some new favorites. So here’s a guide to some of the possibilities, mostly courtesy of the Gulf Coast Chamber. The following list consists of businesses that opened in 2024/25 and appeal to visitors.

Abide Boutique The owner of this women’s clothing, shoes and accessories store says it “reflects the thing that I love to collect the most – structured clothing and statement pieces.”

Amberjack E-Bike Rentals – You can have a bike delivered or pick it up at the store and head straight into the area’s extensive trail network.

Bahama Buck’s – “Shaved ice creations and extremely satisfying island smoothies” are on the menu at “the Ultimate Tropical Dessert Experience.”

Bama Breeze Dolphin Cruise – Based at the Flora-Bama Marina, this operation says its spacious boat offers “the most comfortable dolphin cruise on the island.”

Barometer Waterfront Grille & Barometer Tiki & Raw BarUpscale seafood and handcrafted cocktails, in a dining area decorated with Ernest Hemingway in mind and a marina view of Terry cove. What more could you want?

Beach Village Resort: This gated “coastal lifestyle community” features 69 “Casitas” and is across from the beach and has direct access to Gulf State Park.

Bolo Steak and Seafood – “Serious Food. Laid-Back Vibes” promises this restaurant, which operators describe as “the younger, over-achieving sister restaurant of OSO at Bear Point Harbor.”

The Break Studio – A women’s clothing store offering “a curated selection of chic and trendy clothing from beachwear to stylish dresses, tops, sets, and more.”

Buff City Soaps

Buff City SoapThis “makery” offers handmade bar soaps, bath bombs, body butter, laundry soap, hand soap and beard care products. The space is also available for classes and parties.

The CatchA casual seafood grill and bar just across the road from a public beach.

Crush – This wine bar offers “a wide variety of affordable Old and New World Wine & tasty tapas” at The Wharf.

Fish River Outfitter & Powersports – Offering gear and guides for customers of all skill levels, the Fish River team is “dedicated to sharing our love for the sport and helping you find the best fishing spots.”

Opened August 2024.

Fire Smoked Fish Company If you’re looking to put on a distinctively different coastal feast at your cabin or condo, this small smokehouse specializes in smoked fish. But it’ll also satisfy carnivores with treats like its “Big Daddy” pork chops.

Game Kastle at The WharfGame Kastle stocks board games, role-playing games, miniature war games such as Warhammer 40,000, including independent and small press games.

LM Boutique – A contemporary women’s fashion boutique offering a selection of chic clothing and accessories, in Portside at The Wharf.

Nonna’s Pizzeria – They say their authentic New York style pizza is Gulf Shores’ best, with everything made fresh in-house.

The Orange Beach Store – This beachwear-and-more store moved to a new location in March 2024, allowing for a bigger inventory.

Pleasure Island Parking – Looking for somewhere to stash an extra vehicle that won’t fit in at the condo? This lot offers fenced, lighted, secure storage.

Portside on Main – The Wharf added 33,000 square feet of new space with this addition. Tenants include Tee Off at The Wharf, Legacy Spirits, Crave Cookies and Gulf Babe Wine Boutique.

Salty Escapes Boat Rentals – This business offers full-day center console and pontoon boat rentals in Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and the Perdido Key area.

Timberline Glamping – If you’re looking for someone to set you up with accommodations in a deluxe air-conditioned safari tent near Gulf State Park, with a whole menu of options and accessories to improve your beach experience, this family-owned business is here to help.

Topsail Steamer – As seen on “Shark Tank,” this business offers pre-packed “Bay Buckets” of seafood that you take out and steam on your own. If you’re paying for a kitchen, this is a way to put it to use, preparing a ready-made seafood feast.
