3-year-old in critical condition after being shot at Prichard birthday party
A 3-year-old is in critical condition after being hit by gunfire which erupted at a birthday party in Prichard Monday.
Prichard police Sgt. Bart Andrews told AL.com Tuesday investigators are getting conflicting information from witnesses which doesn’t match the physical evidence.
Thus far, no one has been charged with the shooting, although Andrews said he expected to be able to release additional details “within a couple of days.”
Andrews confirmed the child was not an intended target in the shooting.
At least one bullet “struck major internal organs,” Andrews said.
The child’s father, 27-year-old Jahahreeh Navar Crenshaw of Whistler, was arrested and charged with obstructing government operations, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and tampering with physical evidence.
Crenshaw posted $2,000 bond and was released Tuesday.
