3 Tennessee women – including 89-year-old driver – killed in head-on Alabama crash
Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday in Covington County.
Alabama State Troopers identified the victims as Evelyn S. Hnott, 89, Linda J. Alkasem, 65, and Deborah B. Wall, 67. All three lived in Tennessee.
The wreck happened at 9:45 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 29, about seven miles south of Andalusia.
Senior ALEA Trooper Kendra R. McKinney said the crash began when a Ford F-150 driven by 60-year-old John P. Kiley, of Florida struck a Honda Passport that was driven by an 80-year-old woman.
After the initial collision, McKinney said, Kiley’s truck then collided head on with a Hyundai Genesis driven by Hnott.
Hnott and her two passengers – Alkasem and Wall – were all pronounced dead on the scene.
Kiley was taken to Andalusia Health for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The 80-year driver of the Passport was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by troopers.
