3 recipes to satisfy the ‘big kids’ this Halloween

Halloween may be a holiday aimed at the younger set, but there is no denying that it also holds enormous appeal to the older set.

You know how you can tell that it’s popular with grownups as well as kids? We spend a lot of money on celebrating what is not really a holiday at all.

How much money is spent on Halloween, you ask? According to the National Retail Federation, Americans will spend, on average, $100 each on costumes, candy, decorations and other such nonsense for Halloween.

Math wasn’t my strongest subject in school, but that’s a lot of candy corn and plastic pumpkins.

Adults should just go ahead and admit that we are as much a fan of this made up holiday as any kid. It may not be going house to house asking for candy from neighbors, but that doesn’t mean we still can’t have a good time.

In short, Halloween is one of the best reasons that I know of to dress up and act silly with your friends. In other words, have a party. It’s not like I ever needed an excuse to act foolish with friends, but Halloween just gives me cover to do so with impunity.
