3 killed in western Jefferson County crash now identified
Authorities have released the names of three people killed in a crash Saturday night in western Jefferson County.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the fatality victims as: Josiah Louis Phillips, 22, of Birmingham; Anna Catherine Meyers, 22, of Hoover; and Ashley Nicole Michelle Wyatt, 23, of McCalla.
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. in the 2800 block of McClendon Chapel Road near Blackie Curren Road.
Authorities said Phillips was the driver of a Honda Civic that lost control in a curve and came to a rest down a ravine.
All three victims were pronounced dead on the scene at 10:30 p.m. Another male was taken to UAB Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
