3 killed in north Alabama crash possibly linked to high speeds, alcohol

Sheffield police say three people died following a crash early Friday morning.

WAFF is reporting the incident happened at about 3 a.m. Sept. 1.

Police Chief Ricky Terry told the station that officers responded to reports of a one-vehicle crash in the area of South Hatch Boulevard and Ashe Boulevard.

The vehicle, a 2011 Camaro convertible, appeared to have flipped several times before coming to a stop on Ashe Boulevard, according to WHNT.

Jalisa Ricks, 35; Tina Wright, 27 and Tabitha Black, 28, were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe excessive speed and alcohol could have caused the crash.
