3 killed in east Jefferson County crashes since Friday
Three people have died in unrelated traffic crashes since Friday, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The body of a 47-year-old Pinson man who died from a single vehicle crash was discovered in the 4600 block of Bud Holmes Road in Pinson.
According to the coroner’s office, the man’s Toyota Camry was found at the bottom of a ravine at about 9 p.m. Monday.
It is unclear how long the vehicle had been there. The man’s identity has not yet been released. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
A Leeds man died Friday morning in a motorcycle crash.
Eric Joe Gregory, 38, was injured when his motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into a viaduct at Ashville Road at Lane Drive in Leeds at about 9:27 a.m.
He was pronounced dead later at UAB Hospital. Leeds police are investigating the crash.
Janice Boone Crutcher, 70, was killed in a one-vehicle crash at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
According to the coroner’s office, Crutcher’s maroon Ford Fusion left the roadway and struck a bridge pillar at Interstate 459 and Interstate 20 East in Irondale.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are investigating.
