3 from Alabama receive All-NFL recognition for 2024 season

Three Alabama alumni are members of the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-NFL team for the 2024 season – Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry, Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney and Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II.

McKinney earned recognition from the PFWA for the first time in his career, but Henry and Surtain have been All-NFL previously. Henry was an All-NFL running back for the 2019 and 2020 seasons, and Surtain received All-NFL recognition in 2022.

Henry and Surtain also were members of the PFWA’s All-AFC team, and McKinney was on the All-NFC team.

In making All-AFC for the fifth time, Henry got all the votes at running back, so that there was not a second running back honored as there was with the All-NFL team, which featured the Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley and Henry as the running backs.

Surtain was an All-AFC selection for the third season in a row.

McKinney was joined on the All-NFC team by two more former Alabama players – Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs and Philadelphia Eagles guard Landon Dickerson. Both the guards on the All-NFL team came from the AFC – Quinn Meinerz of the Denver Broncos and Joe Thuney of the Kansas City Chiefs.
