3 dead, at least a dozen wounded after gunfire erupts at party in south Alabama
Three people were killed and at least a dozen wounded after gunfire erupted at a party with at least 1,000 people in attendance in south Alabama Saturday night, according to multiple reports.
Capt. Andre Reid of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said a May Day party was held in the Stockton community when an altercation began, leading to the gunfire. Reid said the victims were primarily “younger people,” according to the Associated Press.
Stockton is a community of about 420 people, located about 30 miles northeast of Mobile.
Reid said no officers were involved in the shooting.
No other details have been released. WALA reported investigators may have identified one suspect, but there was no information on any arrests by midday Sunday.
A call to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office went unanswered Sunday.
