3 dead after car goes down 100-foot Turkey Creek ravine in Jefferson County now identified
Authorities have released the names of three people found dead in an overturned vehicle in Turkey Creek over the weekend.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the victims as Haley Majhae Lalley, 35, of Boaz; Michael Adrian Russell, 36, of Warrior; and Cory Shane Roper, 46, of Hayden.
The discovery was made about 11:45 a.m. Saturday by a man checking his property in the 7700 block of Bradford Road in northeast Jefferson County.
The sedan – an older model Chevrolet Cavalier – was upside down in Turkey Creek.
Authorities said it was about 100 feet down a ravine, and authorities said it appeared the car struck the bridge and then rolled down the hill.
First responders pulled the vehicle to the bridge and then recovered the bodies.
All three were pronounced dead on the scene at 4:45 p.m.
Authorities don’t know when the crash happened.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating.
