2nd victim dies following shooting at southwest Birmingham house

A second person has died following a Wednesday-night shooting at a southwest Birmingham home.

Na’Bryan Adams, 20, died Thursday at UAB Hospital, Birmingham police said.

Multiple shots rang out just after 8 p.m. at a house in the 700 block of 30th Street S.W.

When West Precinct officers arrived at the home, they found 28-year-old rapper Kayla Alexandria Warren, who goes by the professional name 205KayWay, shot on the front porch of a friend’s home.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service rushed her to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 10:54 p.m.

Police learned Adams had been driven by private vehicle to Princeton Baptist Medical Center. He was then transferred to UAB because of the severity of injuries.

A group of people were gathered at the home when the suspect or suspects opened fire.

The gunfire also damaged the house next year where a 66-year-old narrowly escaped being shot.

Adams’ death marks the city’s 106th homicide this year. Of those, eight have been ruled justifiable and therefore aren’t deemed criminal. Two of the homicides happened in previous years, but the victims died in 2024.

In all of Jefferson County, there have been 133 homicides including the 106 in Birmingham.

No arrests have been made.
