2nd suspect charged with capital murder in Montgomery shooting death of 12-year-old girl
A second suspect has been charged in the Montgomery shooting death of a 12-year-old girl.
Jo’Terrion Tucker, 19, of Prattville, is charged with three counts of capital murder, police Maj. Saba Coleman announced Thursday.
The shooting happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, in the 4100 block of Keating Drive.
The 12-year-old victim was taken to a Montgomery hospital and later transferred to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham. She was pronounced dead on June 7.
The child’s name has not been released by police, nor have details of the fatal shooting. Jail records indicate the child was in a vehicle when she was killed, which constitutes the capital charge.
Police announced earlier this week that a 15-year-old boy has also been charged with capital murder.
The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Montgomery police took Tucker into custody on Thursday. He was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility at 2:41 p.m. and is being held without bond.
