A 29-year-old man was found shot to death Tuesday morning in the front yard of a Sylacauga residence.

Sylacauga police were dispatched at 10:30 a.m. to Fluker Street in the Drew Court housing community, said Chief Kelley Johnson.

When they arrived, the found Miles Dontae McGhee unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The chief said circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation by police, Talladega County Drug and Violent Crimes agents and the Talladega County District Attorney’s Office.

“Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Miles Dontae McGhee during this difficult time,’’ Johnson said. “The Sylacauga Police Department is dedicated to resolving this case swiftly and responsibly.”

No arrests have been made.
