27-year-old identified as motorcyclist killed in crash on I-59/20 in Birmingham

Authorities have released the name of a motorcyclist killed on Interstate 59/20 in Birmingham earlier this week.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jeremy Jamal Williams. He was 27 and lived in the Birmingham.

Authorities said Williams was traveling northbound on I-59/20 near Arkadelphia Road Wednesday night when he tried to pass two semi-tractor trailers by going between the two trucks.

According to Birmingham police, Williams struck one of the tractor trailers, lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:10 a.m. Thursday.

Birmingham police worked the deadly crash.
