27-year-old identified as man killed in Fairfield shooting
Authorities have released the name of a man shot to death Friday afternoon in Fairfield.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the victim as Deandre Lamar Hayes. He was 27 and lived in Fairfield.
The sheriff’s office received a call at 2:33 p.m. of shots fired in that area and responded, but did not find anything.
Then, at 4:40 p.m., they were notified of a person down outside of a residence in the 600 block of Jerry D. Coleman Street.
When deputies arrived, they found Hayes unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:57 p.m.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
No arrests have been announced.
