25-year-old man dies month after shooting at south Birmingham apartment complex
A 25-year-old man wounded in a Birmingham shooting nearly one month ago has now died.
Police identified the victim as Quinterrious Patton. He lived in Birmingham.
The shooting happened just after 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, to the 100 block of Stoneridge Road at Adona apartments.
South Precinct officers arrived at the location to find Patton suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to UAB Hospital, where he died on Sunday, Nov. 12.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald said investigators over the past month have worked to gain information from the victim and those close to him, but have received limited feedback.
No arrests have been made.
Patton is Birmingham’s 116th homicide this year. Of those, one was an officer-involved shooting by an outside law enforcement agency, and eight others have been ruled justifiable.
In all of Jefferson County there have been 162 homicides, including the 116 in Birmingham.
