24-year-old ID’d as man gunned down while driving in Birmingham’s Five Points West

Authorities have released the name of a man fatally shot while driving in west Birmingham in an apparent targeted attack.

Birmingham police on Sunday identified the victim as Micah Honor. He was 24 and lived in Adamsville.

The shooting happened shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday in Five Points West.

According to police, Honor was driving in the 2100 block of Bessemer Road when a suspect on foot fired into the vehicle.

The injured Honor struck several other vehicles before his car crashed through a fence and came to a stop in front of the small apartment abandoned building in the 2500 block of Warrior Road.

Honor was pronounced dead on the scene.

Officer Truman Fitzgerald said investigator believe the victim was targeted.

Honor was one of two people killed in Birmingham Saturday in just over one hour, and one of three people killed in less than 24 hours in Jefferson County. The other deadly shooting happened in Bessemer.
