22-year-old man killed in Mobile bar shooting: ‘Your legacy will live on’
The deceased victim in a Saturday night shooting at a Mobile bar has been identified, according to the Mobile Police Department.
Hunter Lin, 22, was identified as the man who died as the result of a gunshot injury.
The department said that officer responded at about 1:54 a.m. to a shooting in the parking lot of Alabama Bar and Lounge on Airport Boulevard.
Officers discovered Lin at the scene with a gunshot wound but he would succumb to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
Another victim arrived at a hospital by personal vehicle with gunshot wound as well, the department said.
Matthew Sanders, 20, was charged in connection to the shootings and has been charged with assault and murder.
An outpouring of heartfelt posts on Facebook have been made since Lin’s death honoring his life.
Many commenters stated how funny he was and how genuinely kind he was even to strangers.
“It didn’t matter if you were rich or poor, you loved everyone the same, teaching us the value of kindness and compassion,” one post said. “You helped people who wouldn’t give the shirt off their back for you, demonstrating the true meaning of selflessness. It’s so sad you were taken like this, but your legacy will live on.”
Mobile police continue to investigate the incident as a homicide.
